Description
The Rhodesian Ridgeback is a strong, intelligent, and independent dog that has been bred for hunting. The breed has a double coat of hair; the outer layer is coarse while the undercoat is soft. The colour of the Rhodesian Ridgeback can be black, red or tan and white, but they all have a ridge of hair running down their backs.
Rhodesian Ridgebacks are known for being very protective of their owners and families. They are great with children, but may not do well around other dogs unless they were raised with them. They are very intelligent dogs who will listen well when trained properly.
